Therapeutic Astrology: Using the Birth Chart in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Counseling" by Greg Bogart Ph.D. is meant for people who want to reconcile psychotherapy with astrology. The book has many examples of people undergoing transformative experiences who were helped by psychotherapy mixed with an awareness of astrology. The section on Mercury transits (and retrogrades) goes into greater depth than I have seen in other books, for example.
The book has a tutorial on the signs, houses, and planets. There are sections on planetary pairs such as Sun-Moon, Mercury-Jupiter, etc.
If there is any flaws in the book, it would be that some of the interpretations of the planets and houses have less depth than we are used to in other psychologically-oriented books like those of Liz Greene or Tracy Marks. However, that is not much of a problem since this is more of an introductory book to astrology with the connections between the practice of psychotherapy and the practice of astrology emphasized. |
